Information for Charities
Charity Vouchers is the original charity gift token scheme designed to raise money for charities. We work with all recognised UK charities and some overseas and international charities, and we aim to keep all costs and paperwork to a minimum for charities to maximise the value of their donations. This page is a guide for Charities to explain how to use our service and how it can help.
How to collect donations
All charities can redeem any Charity Vouchers paid to them... there is no charge for our
service and no need for your charity to sign-up in advance or be a formal member of the scheme.
If you have received a Charity Voucher made out to your charity, we will send you a
cheque for the full face value of the voucher, normally on the same day that you notify us.
There is no need to post the voucher back to us... you can, if you prefer, call us on 0800 6523185 and
give us the voucher number, the voucher's value and your charity's name and registration number or,
better still, use our charity redemption form to redeem the voucher on-line.

We're happy to process vouchers as and when they arrive and keep the process as simple
as possible so there is no good reason to put off contacting us and no need to batch up the vouchers
before redeeming them. Redeeming vouchers quickly also builds the confidence of your donors who may
now check when their voucher gets redeemed by using our new voucher checking service.
When your cheque arrives, you can bank it... there is no need to send us a receipt,
acknowledgement or any further information; we know we've sent the cheque and we confirm that cheques
get cashed by using our bank statements... so you don't need to spend valuable time or money telling us again!
Please note that some customers redeem their vouchers via our FREEPOST address or
via the on-line form on our website. In this case, you will receive a cheque directly from us without
seeing the voucher itself.
Popular charities
If your charity regularly receives Charity Vouchers, it may be more convenient and efficient
for you to let us have your bank details and a contact name, number and e-mail. We can then make payments by
BACS directly to your bank account. Vouchers redeemed this way will be shown by their voucher number in
the BACS transfer and we'll also e-mail you to let you know whenever you have a donation.
Donors details and mailing lists
We give donors the option of completing their personal details when sending in a voucher
or redeeming it on-line. Some people like to give anonymously and won't provide this information...
others may want a receipt or acknowledgement for their donation and others may want to receive more
information about the charity they have donated to. We'll pass on people's details to you where they
have been given. Please add them to your mailing list or database only if it is clear that the person
has requested further information from you.
Encouraging giving
Charity Vouchers are an increasingly popular gift and a new way for people to support
their favourite charities. You can encourage the service and help raise more money for your own
charity by including a link to http://www.charityvouchers.org
on your Charity's website or in your printed literature.
