17. What are e-vouchers?

E-vouchers are the same idea as our standard vouchers but are simply sent as an e-mail gift to the recipient. The email is sent to the buyer first, to 'forward' to the recipient, after adding their own message. 

The email has a picture of one of our 'dove' vouchers and shows the value of the donation on the front.   All the recipient needs to do to redeem it is to click on the voucher image or on the unique voucher identification number.  It will then take them automatically to the on-line redeeming page of our website.

We have introduced e-vouchers in response to requests we received last Christmas.  Similar schemes already operate in the USA and Australia but ours is the first scheme of its kind in the UK.

E-vouchers have several advantages over our standard vouchers and cards. 

• They are a 'greener' gift because, of course, no resources are consumed producing and posting the vouchers, cards, envelopes etc. 
• They are great last-minute gifts because orders are normally processed, and the e-vouchers sent out, on the day of ordering.  This means they can be with the intended recipient the same day!
• Easy redeeming means that vouchers are donated to the charities very quickly and start 'making a difference' straight away!
• For friends and family overseas e-vouchers are both faster and cheaper to send.  Then, coupled with our online redeeming, anyone anywhere in the world can donate the voucher to a UK charity straight away.
